THE QURA'N

The Qur’an is not the word of man, nor the product of time. It is the eternal speech (kalam) of Allah—uncreated, perfect, and preserved from all falsehood

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. We send peace and blessings upon His final Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ—sent as a mercy to mankind, the best of creation, and the most complete example for all who seek the pleasure of their Lord.

We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and from the consequences of our misdeeds. We ask His forgiveness and turn to Him in sincere repentance. Whomever Allah guides, none can misguide; and whomever He allows to stray, none can guide.

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah—alone, without partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May peace and blessings be upon him, his noble family, his righteous companions, and all those who follow him with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

Allah sent the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a mercy and a guide for all of humanity, with the true and final religion—Islam. Along with him, Allah revealed the Book (the Qur’an) and the Hikmah (wisdom), which is the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. Through these two foundations, humanity is shown the path of truth so that they may reflect, be guided, and ultimately succeed in this life and the next.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “I am leaving behind two things: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah. As long as you hold firmly to them, you will never go astray.” – Source: Imam Malik (Muwatta Imam Malik, Hadith: 1601), Imam Hakim (Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1, pg. 93)

“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often.” – Qur’an: Surah Ahzab 33:21

In this verse, Allah instructs us that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the ideal role model—an example to be followed in all aspects of life. He ﷺ strove to establish and uphold the truth, to strengthen and bring victory to Allah’s religion.

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If you ˹sincerely˺ love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” – Surah Imran 3:31

The Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ holds an elevated status in Islam. As Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) described him: “His character was the Qur’an.” – Source: Sahih Muslim
He was the living embodiment of Allah’s words.

Through the Hadith and Sunnah, many Qur’anic verses are explained, contextualised, and made actionable. The Prophet ﷺ was divinely guided to demonstrate how to worship, how to live, and how to apply the principles of the Qur’an. There are also rulings and teachings found in the Sunnah that are not explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an but are essential to the implementation of Islamic law (Shari’ah).

Thus, Islam cannot be fully understood or lived without adherence to both the Qur’an and the Sunnah. These two sources form the foundation of Allah’s proof (Hujjah) upon His servants. All matters of faith and action are built upon them. To attempt to separate the Qur’an from the Sunnah is to open the door to misguidance and the erosion of the religion itself.

Allah says: “We sent them with clear signs and divine Books. And We have sent down to you, ˹O Prophet,˺ the Reminder so that you may explain to the people what has been revealed for them, and so they may reflect.” – Qur’an: Surah al-Nahl 16:44

The Prophet ﷺ also said during his Farewell Sermon: “O people! Listen carefully to my words, for I have conveyed the message. I have left among you that which, if you hold firmly to it, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.” – Source: Tarikh al-Tabari, Imam Malik (Muwatta Imam Malik, Hadith: 1601), Imam Hakim (Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1, pg. 93

In this section of our website, we have gathered the major Hadith collections known as Kutub al-Sittah (The Six Canonical Books), along with Riyadh as-Salihin by Imam al-Nawawi. We will also present the noble life of the Prophet ﷺ (As-Sirah an-Nabawiyyah ash-Sharifah) based on the work of Imam Yusuf al-Nabahani: Al-Anwar al-Muhammadiyyah min al-Mawahib al-Laduniyyah—so that it may serve as a guide and a practical example for us all.

May Allah accept this effort, make it a means of benefit, and purify our intentions for His sake and His sake alone.

Ameen.

INTRODUCTION

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds—the One who revealed the Qur’an as a mercy, a guidance, and a light for all creation.

We send peace and blessings upon the final Messenger, our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, through whom the final revelation was delivered—a source of clarity, healing, and truth for all who seek it.

The Qur’an is not the word of man, nor the product of time. It is the eternal speech (kalam) of Allah—uncreated, perfect, and preserved from all falsehood. It is not bound by the limits of era or intellect, for it is from the One who transcends time and place. As such, it remains as relevant and miraculous today as it was when it was first revealed, 1400 years ago.

It was sent down to His chosen servant, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, to bring people out of darkness into light, from shirk (associating partners with Allah) to tawheed (the oneness of Allah), from kufr (disbelief) to iman (faith). With it, Allah sealed all previous revelations, making the Qur’an the final, preserved message for all of humanity until the end of time.

The Qur’an corrected misguidance, clarified truth, and reconnected creation with their Creator. It is Allah’s proof (hujjah) upon His creation, and His message to all mankind and jinn. It contains the foundations of belief (‘aqeedah), divine laws (shari’ah), timeless stories of those who came before and those to come, a lessons for every soul. Its verses supported the Prophet ﷺ and served as guidance for every moment of his mission.

Allah has promised to protect the Qur’an from alteration or loss. He says:

“Indeed, it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed, We will surely guard it.” – Qur’an: Surah al-Hijr 15:9

The Qur’an is not only guidance; it is an act of worship. Reciting it, understanding it, reflecting on its meanings, and implementing its teachings bring a believer closer to Allah. It strengthens faith, improves character, and refines the soul – moulding the personality of a true Muslim.

Modern scientific discoveries have only recently begun to uncover truths that were already mentioned in the Qur’an over 1,400 years ago. These scientific miracles are signs for those who reflect, drawing scientists and seekers of knowledge toward belief and submission.

The Qur’an was sent first to al-Lawh al-Mahfudh (the Preserved Tablet), then to Bayt al-‘Izzah in the lowest heaven (Sama’ ad-Dunya), and finally revealed gradually to the Prophet ﷺ through the Angel Jibril— in response to various circumstances and events.

Its central message is a balance between fear of Allah and His punishment and hope in His mercy and reward.

The Qur’an has rights over us: to be recited, understood, pondered upon, and obeyed. Through it, a Muslim builds noble character: truthfulness, humility, mercy, justice, trustworthiness—traits that enable them to lead and guide society by example. It instils a deep awareness that Allah sees every action, hears every word, and knows every thought and intention.

And if one seeks to understand the embodiment of the Qur’an in human form, look no further than the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

When asked about his character, Aisha (رضي الله عنها) replied: “His character was the Qur’an.” – Source: (Sahih Muslim)

In him ﷺ, the Qur’an was lived, walked, and breathed. He was the living Qur’an—its perfect implementation and example for all of humanity.

The prophet (peace be upon him) said: “I am leaving behind two things the Book of Allah and the Sunnah” – Source: Imam Malik (Muwatta Imam Malik, Hadith: 1601), Imam Hakim (Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1, pg. 93)
